At the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life events, communities around the globe come together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much. Our Zirkle Fruit Relay for Life Team is fighting for every birthday threatened by cancer in our community. Our Team, consisting of employees and their friends and families, camp out overnight at Wixson Park and take turns walking or running around the track. The Relay For Life event is 24 hours in length and, because cancer never sleeps, at least one member of our Team walks the track at all times during those 24 hours.
Our Zirkle's Angels Team have participated in this national 24-hour event since 2008. They have been instrumental in raising awareness within our community and are very creative with fundraising efforts, which include a Crab Feed held at the Selah Civic Center (that sells out every year), gift basket raffles, baked goods and tamale sales--just to name a few. We are proud to be a part of this amazing community event and team of caring people!
