Database Administrator

Zirkle - Rainier Fruit is a dynamic business that grows, packs, and ships exceptional apples, cherries, and blueberries to major retailers and wholesalers across the globe. We are looking for a talented person to join our team to strengthen our existing Microsoft SQL DBA, Developer, SSIS, SSAS, and Power BI roles.  A curious, analytical-minded person with excellent teamwork, leadership, and communication skills who is adaptable to change will thrive at Zirkle - Rainier Fruit.

 

Primary Job Duties

• Provide analytical and troubleshooting capabilities to address multiple technical areas and systems.

• Recognize and act on inconsistencies in data or results and escalate unusual problems.

• Develop and maintain ETL processes to support: data warehouse, business intelligence, internal and external data integration needs (SSIS, SSAS, …).

• Create ad hoc SSRS reports given customer requirements.

• Identify risks, anticipate, analyze, troubleshoot, and remediate issues.

• Proactively monitor, manage, and maintain systems to ensure availability. 

• Perform SQL query optimization, index management, and archiving to ensure system performance.

• Perform database and related asset backups and recovery.

• Provide 24 x 7 after-hours support on a rotating basis (2 weeks on, 8 weeks off)

• Considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems or making recommendations or decisions.

 

Education & Experience

• Bachelors is preferred.

• 3+ years of experience preferred.
